I haven't been on in forever. I really need to start doing something with my site again. Anyway, part of the reason I haven't been around much is the fact that Xanga has been majorly lacking its popularity lately. It's kind of pointless writing something if hardly anybody is going to be reading it. Everyone's in a MySpace craze right now, which I think is lame. I have a MySpace and all, but I've never liked it all that much. "Features-Schmeatures", I say! Xanga now has all the features that MySpace has, and in my opinion, Xanga does a better job at them. But MySpace is the fad now, and I'm now hearing the faithful Xanga-ers referred to as "losers." Just so you all know, I'm still sticking up for the underdog! I will continue to use both MySpace and Xanga, but my heart is with Xanga. Call me a loser all you want, I will NOT succumb!
Okay, random heroic/stupid over-romanticising aside, back to the post.
Anyway, the main reason I haven't been around is due to my being extremely busy over the last few months. I haven't posted at all since the first of this month because I've been struggling to get schoolwork / work / graduation / open house / everything else out of the way. And since I'm posting....well, it's all out of the way.
As of today, I am now officially a graduate of the Denlinger Home School High School (DHSHS). It's crazy to think that I am no longer a high school student, and am in fact now considered post-high! In fact, it hasn't really sunk in yet. Anyway, my open house was last night. That went really well. I got to hang out with some friends and church people and stuff. Wow, it's really crazy trying to talk to everyone who comes in your house in an evening. But I had a lot of fun. If you read this: thanks to everyone who came!
Furtherly (if that's a word), my internship at my church ended on Thursday. So sad. My boss, Pastor/Brother Rodney-Roo #2 Tic-Tac Tacket seemed especially sad to see me go (he emphasised this by saying "I'm really sad to see you go" over and over again). But on Thursday, everyone working in the church offices took me out to eat at Chilli's for a "farewell" party. This included Dave, Nate, and Rod (my bosses), the head pastor, and the church secretary. It was a nice way to end.
My final orchestra concert was a week ago from Thursday. It was a lot of fun. However, I had a five-line violin solo at the beginning of one of the songs, and that went horrible! But everyone said I did a good job and then we watched the video later and it actually sounded a lot better from the audience than it did on stage. Last Wednesday I went to ECA (Elkhart Christian Academy) for the final time for an "end-of-the-year" party, which was fun.
Anyway, it seems that everything has been building up to the events of the last couple weeks, and now that everything's over, all I want to do is relax. Unfortunately, I can't relax just yet, because tomorrow I am getting on an airplane and flying to Virginia for three weeks. I'm attending a summer drama camp with the Academy of Arts (I've posted about their week-long camps before), and we're going to be putting on a play for the celebration of the 400th Anniversary of Jamestown. It should be a lot of fun, but I kinda wish I had a break before taking off again. I'm also sad because I'm missing out on every single one of my friends open houses this year (and I've got a lot of friends graduating). Anyway, I should be back around the 17th or 18th of June, just in time to participate in a local VBS camp that my church youth group is helping with. So, don't be expecting any more posts from me before then.
I'll see you all when I get back! Love you guys,
Aaron.
